No Spoof Bully Proof Program

“Bully-proofing Your Child” is a program of national acclaim, seen on CNN, that
is being brought to Yakima by Pro-ACTION Family Martial Arts as a community
service project.

10 FUN BULLY GAMES*SAFE*CONFIDENCE BUILDING*CHILD-PARENT BONDING
”BULLY GAMES”  equips your 4 -12 year old with the confidence necessary to
defeat
a bully. A parent or interested adult will be taught 10 Fun Bully
Games to play & bond with the child.

The purpose of the games is to lay down a foundation of verbal and physical
skills t
hat prevent an encounter with a bully which could result in physical or
emotional injury.  Inste
ad of using kicks and punches as a defense, the child will
learn to control/restrain and negotiate while game-playing with the adult.  The
trained child will learn to fight fire with water to win “The Bully Battle”, and
even
make a new friend; rather than losing a fight and perpetuating the bullying.

By the time the typical child is 12 years old, he/she has heard
the word, “no”
60,000
times, but "yes" only 8,000 times.  Often the result is a rebellious teen.
This program is affirmation oriented, and maintains interest and enthusiasm by
providing three intensity levels
for each game. Each game begins in slow motion
and advances to CRAZY-FUN.  The child is corrected without even knowing a
mistake was made.  As a parent, you will learn quickly how to use this
“Perfect”  teaching method for quick results and to get and keep your child’s
attention.

Both parent and child memorize
the “5 Rules of Engaging the Bully”, that offer
both verbal and physical action plans
supported by the parent, for the child to
follow in the event of a bully episode.

Your child will be taught how to TALK to the bully, and when and how to TELL
parents, teachers and friends of the problem they are facing.  Finally, if the
bullying persists, TACKLE - a safe, and effective method for the child to
interrupt the bully to stop the

aggression.

Prior to this program, children, parents and teachers have been limited to “no
tolerance” policies that are not always fair-handed. While these
policies appear to
have some effect in reducing physical violence, they have
much less effect on
verbal assaults.  The emotional and physical health impact of verbal attacks alone
are well documented.

Thankfully, no longer do children, parents, or teachers have to be paralyzed
with
ineffective action
, or no action at all.  As the child gains verbal and physical
deflecting skills, and learns the 5 Rules of Engagement to earn the support of
their parent, the child’s confidence is assured.  This confident child of yours
becomes a bully repell
ent - even able to assist a sibling, or friend if
necessary.  The child is now better prepared
- for life.   Everybody wins, and
life is good again - “fighting fire with water.”
